Day 2 - June 12, 2025

Delphi

Discover the awe-inspiring archaeological site of Delphi, where ancient Greece regarded it as the spiritual and physical heart of the world. Nestled dramatically nearly 2,000 feet above sea level on the serene slopes of Mount Parnassus, this sanctuary of Apollo continues to mesmerize visitors with its historical charm. Walk the Sacred Way, once adorned with statues and treasures, leading to the magnificent Temple of Apollo, where the Pythia foretold oracles that shaped ancient destinies. Pause at the Castalian Spring, where pilgrims once purified themselves, then marvel at the acoustics of the ancient theater and the remarkably preserved stadium complete with its starting blocks. The journey continues at the Delphi Museum, home to treasures like the Omphalos, symbolizing the center of the ancient Greek world, and the stunning bronze Charioteer, a masterpiece from the 5th century B.C. Later, savor the flavors of Greece with a traditional lunch featuring tzatziki, olives, dolmades, and fresh Greek salads in the charming village of Delphi.In the afternoon, travel to the enchanting town of Kalambaka, nestled at the base of Meteora’s breathtaking cliffs. Day 3 - June 13, 2025

Athens, Greece

Step into a world of wonder as we take you to Meteora, home to one of Greece’s most awe-inspiring sites. Towering rock formations cradle centuries-old monasteries—six of which remain active today. Originally settled by 11th-century monks seeking solitude in caves, these sacred retreats later shifted to dramatic, sky-high peaks for safety during turbulent times. In the early days, access was no easy feat; monks relied on nets and retractable wooden ladders stretching 40 meters into the sky. Today, roads, pathways, and steps make the journey less daunting, offering visitors the chance to explore this UNESCO-protected treasure. You’ll visit two of these spectacular monasteries, appreciating their unique history and serene beauty. Along the way, look for the nets still in use for hauling goods. Afterward, we venture to Kalambaka to enjoy a delightful lunch, followed by a drive back to Athens. On our return, we’ll pass the historic monument of Leonidas at Thermopylae—a reminder of Greek heroism. End the day relaxing at the elegant St. George Lycabettus Hotel. **Kindly note:** Modest attire is required for visiting the monasteries. Ladies are asked to wear skirts that cover their knees, while gentlemen should wear long trousers. Both must cover their shoulders.

In the upper town, you’ll discover Agia Sophia, an enchanting Byzantine-era gem, along with a majestic castle overlooking the area.
